Happy Aloha Friday and greetings from my last day on Maui! Lily and I just said goodbye to Steph and Molly and I am already having major #slamsquad2016 withdrawals. Our tour de Maui and Oahu was dreamy, filled with lots of spam musubis, shave ice, and malasadas and I can't wait to share all of it with you guys, but for now, let's talk cupcakes.
Did you know that last week Saturday was National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day? To celebrate, I shared a recipe for these peanut butter and jelly cupcakes on the Kitchenthusiast. If you're a pb&j lover, I think you should probably head on over to KitchenAid's blog. The cake itself is deliciously peanut buttery and filled with a big dollop of strawberry jam (ok, yeah, it's jam not jelly, but I'm more of a jam gal than jelly girl). A swirl of creamy peanut butter cream cheese frosting and strawberry jam cream cheese frosting is piped on top and a couple of fresh strawberry slices top the whole affair for a bit of flair.
Please forgive me, but I've got to get to packing, dip my toes in the ocean one more time, and squeeze in at least one more shave ice and maybe a poke bowl before catching my red-eye back to LA.
